Without Knowing ...

"None of us knows what might happen even the next minute,
yet still we go forward. Because we trust."
Paulo Coelho

We trust that the tight tulip bulb will open with lovely pastels, and that the sun will rise and the moon will shine. So why do we not have the same element of trust in our lovely selves? Rather than making a decision, trusting in our judgment, we will avoid a situation. Not trusting in surrounding opportunities, we keep our selves small.

There is a calm prior to every storm meant to be enjoyed. Too often we spend this time pulling on galoshes, finding the umbrella, and preparing for disaster. We live in fear rather than unfolding with the natural flow. Not trusting, we push, pull, and manipulate. We race rather than trusting all will unfold.

Releasing the obsession to control, we can stand present in the moment, using our awareness to appreciate the good waiting to be discovered. We can step off the beaten path, choose diverse ways to create, while trusting our inner inspirations. There is a need to complete our lessons, trusting they enhance our life experience.

Tears ...

"Tears are words that need to be written."
Paulo Coelho

Change is not easy for anyone, even when it is welcomed. New situations may be exciting, or they can be nerve wracking. Fear of the unknown, absence of the familiar, and doubting can undermine the best of decisions.  We strive to be above our insecurities and repress our anxiety which then of course impacts us physically.

We may be looking at our dearest friend, inquiring what is wrong. Tears stream down this gentle soul's face while they state, "Nothing." Being honest with the self is taking the best road to mental health. Admitting our fears is not a weakness, but often times a strength. With pen in hand, we can give voice to what we hesitate to speak.

As we release what has been harbored, there is fresh space for new thinking. After venting, we may experience enough clarity that we can deem the situation no longer worthy of our time. Retrieving our energy from negative thinking, we can invest in scenarios where new episodes of adventure can be created.

The Bridge Ahead ...

"Some people around you will not understand your journey. They don't
need to; it's not for them." Paulo Coelho

There are moments where we pause and wonder about our life. Many questions surface about what we have left undone or never ventured forward to explore. Discontent can be felt at any stage of life, and it has nothing to do with success or failure. There is that snippet of unrest that suddenly appears.

Disregard who we were in the past and who we dreamed of becoming. Sit still and inventory who we are right now in this moment. Do we even know? This is not about judgement, but about self-discovery. We need to ask ourselves what we are missing. In solitude, we can recognize this inner longing.

We meet the needs of others, cheer the loudest for our friends, and offer safe space for those in need. Then we ignore personal aspirations. With new vision, there is a bridge waiting up ahead. Will we cross it into new segments of our lives? Will longing be explored? What parts of our lovely selves await our arrival!

Dreamscapes

"... no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams."
Paulo Coelho

Our dreams are a beautiful backdrop to daily living. They demonstrate our emotions whether bitterly angry or blissfully happy. Subtle messages repeat in differing scenarios until we finally recognize the narrative. Flashes of the future may appear or visions of loved ones who now walk in a different world, greet us.

Waking dreams are just as significant. We may drive by a school yard or a playground, catching a glimpse of our children when they were young. Observing two women run into each others arms, makes us realize how much we want a friend. While watching a movie that we are not invested in, we begin to cry uncontrollably with release.

When we do not pay attention to our dreams, it is similar to walking around with an encyclopedia and never looking inside. Dreams are outlandish to catch our attention. Danger might be indicated to give us warning. Premonitions about both birth and death are plentiful. Start investing in personal dreams for guidance in daily living.

I See You, Child!

"Hold the hand of the child who lives in your soul.
For this child, nothing is impossible."
Paulo Coelho

Little one, I give you permission to engage with life utilizing endless creativity.  Dig in the dirt, fly kites, climb trees, blow bubbles, and catch lightening bugs.  Most of all, embrace the spirits who sing and dance around you, for they love you so.

Recognize your voice as a bearer of truth.  Listen to your growing intuition. Pay attention to what your body is trying to tell you when it is tired and needing rest.  Watch the setting sun with anticipation for a sky filled with dancing stars who joyfully tease the moon.

Never forget, sweet child, the importance of loving and laughter. Let your dreams guide you into higher realms, while nature roots you upon this sacred ground. Remember to leave blessings in your footprints, while you navigate the winding path towards home.

Seek Fanciful Distractions

"One day, you will wake up and there won't be
any more time to do the things you've
always wanted to do."
Paulo Coelho

Glancing back over the years of my life, I am amazed at the compiled adventures I have participated in alone or small groups.  Nothing in the vein of protesting, but rather all things stemming from my love of nature.  The gift of joy resonating through my heart to heal my broken places.

I found making extensive plans  got in the way or side tracked an entire event.  It seemed best to follow the heart and take advantage of what opportunities seemingly came out of no where.  When plans fall  together quickly, there is little time for fear to negate the plan.

Over time, it becomes quite clear that participation frequently depends upon mind over matter.  Not to encourage impulsive actions, but to take advantage of the veils opening and offering a vision quest.  Whether wading through a cold stream or leaning against an ancient boulder or getting lost in the flames of a fire, there is magic to be experienced.  Please, just sit in a favorite chair, gently close the eyes, and unleash the mind to seek fanciful distractions.

Redesign Our Package

"Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people
should lead their lives, but none about his or her own."
Paulo Coelho

The deepest struggle in life is finding a path that does not distract us from who we are meant to be or what we are here  to accomplish.  When we have the sense that we are right were life needs us to be, change occurs and illusion or fear may redesign our passage.

Negotiating with life about education, family, career, housing, and mounting debt, our concentration is pulled outside of our lovely selves to the expertise of others.  Instead of sustaining our creativity, we are detained by the guidelines meant for others.

As we gain some momentum, we begin to figure out it is not so much what we do, but how we do it.  Are we ruthless and cruel or are we compassionate and helpful?  It is in the manner in which we navigate through life that has more sway than the end result, but still arriving with abundance and joy.

The Harvest of Our Dreams

"There is only one thing that makes a dream
impossible to achieve:
the fear of failure."

Paulo Coelho
THE ALCHEMIST

Soon fall will be here and hopefully it will be abundant.  It is a time to think back to spring, recalling what seeds we planted for things to grow, as harvest will soon be upon us.  We had all of winter to dream, spring to plant, summer to nurture, and now time to see what will be manifested.  We are reminded of  all the spiraling cycles of life.

When we hibernate in the winter, it is really important to journal different ideas presenting themselves.  It is helpful to keep a small notebook to jot down random creative thoughts that  would be surely forgotten by spring.

We next find ourselves pondering what creative crops to plant in spring.  Do we want to sprinkle a variety of seeds for possible opportunities or do we want one special focus to bury deeply in rich soil of thought and deed?  We can research our dreams to make certain our timing and purpose align.

During the summer, we nurture these hopeful dreams come true.  If we adequately fertilize, water and nurture our dream based creativity, surely sprouts will have the energy to push up through mother earth.  If we do not invest attention and expansion into our fertile minds, creative ideas will fizzle not thrive.

In the fall we feel the need to get organized, as the time for speculation has passed us by, leaving us with an eye for evaluating what will be harvested.  We examine what we have reaped, studying  crops to determine if the dream seeds have been incubated correctly or failed to thrive.  It is interesting to see where our abundance lies.  Where was our focus heaviest to produce our endeavors?

When we walk through our fields of dreams, we are often surprised by an idea  growing wild in the midst of of our plot.  Spirit often times plants an idea which catches us by surprise.  Do not be heavy laden by the illusion of fear.  Remain light hearted and thankful for whatever creation comes our way.  We can step through fear, safely harvesting the results of our intentions.
