Choice To Turn
"We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is
the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are."
J.K. Rowling
Our individual journey winds us through both mountains and valleys. Our pathway includes facing our darkest shadows, followed by brilliant light to heal our souls. Entering darkness cannot be fully avoided as that is where we learn these difficult lessons. It is our light that will safely lead us through confusion, loss and despair.
Although absolute darkness can heighten understanding, without returning to a mixed balance of light, surroundings grow harmful. While listening to others, whether friend or foe, we can be tainted by negativity. One must choose to turn away and face the light to be reminded of who we really are.
We may become suffocated by darkness and blinded by light, so again there must be a fluid yin and yang. With conscious decision making, we regulate exposure through choice. Know when to walk away or how to reach out. When fully grounded, our inner spirit will safely guide us to and fro.

Darkness Falls Behind
"We've all got both light and dark inside us.
What matters is the part we choose to act on."
J.K. Rowling
The more we hide ourselves from others, the less we are understood. Keeping silent gives the impression that we are in agreement. The longer we hide the self, the greater the divide. We cannot fully expand into a new persona while fearing the judgment of others. Release the need for approval and have faith in the journey.
It is counterproductive to restrain the self from adjusting to our personal change. Sharing our journey can be difficult, but if we drop expectations for approval, speaking freely, our passion will grow. Maintaining boundaries, we can bring our new light out into the world slowly and effectively.
It is a false programming to believe that we need to keep things to ourselves. We fear others will not understand resulting in unwanted criticism. It is true that our disclosures need to be aired in a safe space and the timing can be flexible. However, if we continue to be drawn forward into the light, darkness falls behind.

Embracing Friend or Foe
"It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies,
but even more to stand up to your friends."
J.K. Rowling
Through hate or insecurities, we are likely to unleash judgment that appears to be over the top. My expectations of friends consists of treating each other with honor and respect. It is important whom we choose as friends. There is no need to gather a support system of those not deserving of trust.
I have been blessed by friends who are interested in my evolvement. When they do not understand or disagree, they ask questions and delve deeper. We support each other while expressing our personal opinion without using words that harm. When I am honest with others, I tend to believe they will also be honest with me. It is all about the chosen structure of a nurturing relationship.

No Need for Magic
"We do not need magic to change the world,
we carry all the power we need inside of ourselves already:
we have the power to imagine better."
J.K. Rowling
If we perpetually carry in our mind's eye the visual of being impaired, then yes, indeed, we very well may lead a life of impairment. Our body, mind and spirit listen carefully to everything we say .... even the ridiculous things we mutter under our breath.
Our perception is the measuring stick, so there is plenty of room for inaccuracy. Although mindless, in college we played a game to discover an aspect of someone that they were unaware. For me, I never knew I was bow legged until my college mates pointed this out to me. It was from that point that I became self-conscious about my legs.
If a beautiful person feels defected or ugly, he or she will live life never experiencing personal beauty. If a person is overly convinced of personal beauty, they are unlikely to discover less superficial aspects of personality. The best formula is to use the power within to create the best version of our selves as we discover our gifts and talents. One doesn't need magic to be kind or to be a light in the world.

Multi Sided Crystals
"It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live."
J.K. Rowling
Life is not meant to be lived willy nilly. Physically, Mentally, and Spiritually, we need to be centered, not regulating from one extreme to another. If our body is excessively trained, void of all other connections, ego will have us on lock down. If we are obsessed mentally, we will not necessarily maintain good health. If we are extreme spiritualists, removed from the community of life, we would not be sharing our wisdom with others. Balance is a necessity.
We do need to have intention and focus, but if we are not cognizant of the present moment, we will not be completing the daily tasks which would lead us to our fulfillment. Creative expression is necessary to enhance both our inner and outer lives, but we cannot be lost in our dreams.
The human being is multi sided and I like to imagine us as crystals. As we turn, we notice numerous sides to ourselves just waiting to be enhanced or enjoyed. We are not just one solid lump. We are sparkling resources for endless observation and discovery of personal hidden reflections.

In the Moment
"We've all got both light and dark inside us.
What matters is the part we choose to act on."
J.K. Rowling
Light and darkness has its own power and exists within us. We need to be aware of how both the light and the dark generates energy. The stronger our awareness, the better we manage the alignment.
Physical strength or darkness has long been associated with male energy while creative emotions are linked to the light. They are often thought of as contradictory and complementary, yet both reside within us.
We need physical energy for movement in life, to defend, and to communicate while creative energy allows us unique development, dreams, and vision. If we do not maintain accountability of being in balance, incidents can trigger us to unleash undesirable strength or distorted thought. We have choice to thrive with respect for others or to gain by control over others. The decision is ours to make and these actions will reflect who we truly are in the moment.
