Shall We Wish or Plan?

"It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan."
Eleanor Roosevelt

Out of nowhere, a very pleasant idea surfaces and we think, "Boy! Wouldn't that be nice?" We may expand upon the possibility, adding wishful thinking and idly day dreaming.   Curiously, one can wonder what would happen if a person actually took action.

Instead of wasting time wishing for life to be different, we can utilize our efforts into creating a plan.  What if we switched thought with action?  How would life be if we took a calculated risk?  Imagine the result if we actually invested in change.

Inner fear keeps opportunities at bay.  Fear erodes inspiration and confidence.  Fear trips us up prior to beginning.  How many times does the Universe have to float possibilities before us until we step into the light, diminishing fear?

Wear Our Lovely Selves Well!

"No matter how plain a woman may be,
if truth and honesty
are written across her face,
she will be beautiful."

Eleanor Roosevelt

It is not unusual to come across a poem or a writing encouraging us to see the beauty in another person as a reflection of our very selves.  People are mirrors to us, we are told.   When we notice a quality in some one else, we can ask if we need to strengthen that in ourselves or do we have it in place?  There are times we are witness to someone acting 'ugly' or being insensitive, and we are urged to look within and see if we, too, act in this way.  Sometimes we realize the poor behavior of someone else is just showing us how we never want to be.

While traveling, I noticed a woman who walked with grace.  She carried herself with confidence and appeared to be prepared for anything coming onto her path.  As I reviewed my life, I was reminded how courage came to me when needed; when bravery appeared as required; and how well I had defended myself.  Although my expectations had shifted over  the years, it was important to embrace the sense of  'job well done'.

Sadly, we often times do not give our selves credit that is due.  It is important to reflect on the good we have accomplished with a humble spirit and thankful heart.  There is no need to compare our lives to the lives of others.  Value the accomplishments that have been made by being true to our authentic selves.  Our beauty shines as we  learn to 'wear' our lovely selves well!

Rippling Across the World

We gain strength and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face ... we must do that which we think we cannot.

Eleanor Roosevelt

Envision your beautiful self in your daily routine, whether it is scurrying to work, shuffling children off to school, or creating an agenda for your day.  Stand back a little ways from your thoughts and observe how fear nips at your ankles like a yapping small dog.  Instead of barking, the little fear dog yelps in your ear, "You are not going to make it," or "Who do you think you are to try to do this," or "People are going to think you are crazy," or "Your friends or colleagues are going to laugh at you!"

Fear chases us throughout the day. Sometimes the voice drones on for so long that we no longer hear it even though our brain is recording every message.  Fear creates barriers and limitations causing us to use our energy for worrying rather than  for success.

Fear assists in sensing danger, but generally speaking, fear is a false image.  Fear is rarely factual, and once we step through it, we will reclaim our fragmented energy to propell us forward into our desires.

No one wants to appear foolish, nor do they want to make mistakes or become a failure.  All human beings have these concerns, such as:  Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Hellen Keller, Martin Luther King, Jr.   Discoveries in space, medicine, psychology, and many other fields can be credited to people who stepped through their own personal fears.

Do not let fear hold you back, please.  The world really does wait for what you have to say or do.  Your efforts will be felt around the world as you add your insights into the positive forces rippling across the world.
