Shouldering Burdens

"Worry is an old man with bended head, carrying a load of feathers
which he thinks are lead."
Corrie Ten Boom

Throughout our lives, situations blow up in front of us, leaving piles of debris. We have to choose whether to pick up the pieces and place them on our shoulders or stack them to the side. The choice is ours to make with each action having its own result. Inner emotional conversations can turn negative, misdirecting us and triggering misuse of energy.

When we are focused on guilt and shame, corrective implementation may be overlooked. We carry sadness and regret on our shoulders, lessening forward movement. Distraction from appropriate resolve increases the burden. If we would look at stacked damage, rather than carry it, pieces can be arranged for creative repair.

Puzzling restoration is a forward movement that does not weigh one down. There is still serious damage and heavy emotions, but we shift from 'why' this happened to 'how' can I move forward. Positive perspective is challenging to maintain, but the lesson heals throughout the body, mind, and soul.

Unknown Future

"Never be afraid to trust an unknown future
to a known God."
Corrie ten Boom

Forgiveness may take awhile to sincerely embrace, but forgetting takes even longer.  It  is extremely challenging to trust again.  It is my belief, companionship involves two people and each must hold themselves accountable.  The other person may have been 97% at fault, but it is vital to learn from the 3% we personally contributed.

If we do not admit to our minor part, we will carry it into relationships that follow.  Until we untangle our own weakness, we will continue to repeat it over again.  As long as we remain invested in the horrific action of the other, we avoid facing our lovely selves.

We are the only ones we can literally change. There needs to be a pause so we can stand back and see a broader picture while healing.  If, in our hearts, we truly believe in a higher spirit whether called God or Universe, we can prepare ourselves to be our best and trust that Spirit has a plan.

Wasted Energy

"Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow,
it empties today of its strength."
Corrie ten Boom
Clippings from My Notebook

We worry about our selves, family, and friends, even though worry is an emotion capable of causing our body harm.  When we worry, our system becomes acidic which can lead to an upset stomach, indigestion or heartburn.  If we worry hard and long enough, we can develop ulcers or other medical problems.

To worry is to distract our selves from facing life.  It is kin to fear.  Both worry and fear lead us down a path of angst with an overwhelming sense of not having control.  Worry does not assist in making a situation better nor does it add to a person's well being.  It is wasted energy.

Worry is a missed opportunity to  encourage, support or turn to the Divine.  These are positive actions capable of moving us into a more stable frame of mind. Negative worry is waste and positive action is strength. Thinking good thoughts and taking action of any kind can help us remain in the present  moment with power.
