Inside Support
Shirley MacLaine somehow swooped into my life with her outspoken views and authentic non-fiction books. I remember in my ignorance thinking I could only have such freedom of speech if I lived in California! I've come a long way baby!
The concept of having both male and female qualities were very significant in broadening aspects of myself. I had always felt the need to be strong (masculine) hiding emotional sensations (feminine). With new information, I was able to let my boundaries alternate between the two powers. The revelation increased my identity with self.
Today I was reading how our masculine should "support" our feminine side. From early on, I had thought, literally, men would support women. Now, I understand that all the support I need comes from inside, from my masculine side, not from a man. This creates the wholeness with both masculine and feminine stepping up when support is needed.

Mood Music
Straight out of college, I worked in a Head Start Program where the morning routine called for us to feed the children, oversee the brushing of teeth, and then gather into a circle. We would watch the behavior each child to determine the type of music to start our day.
If the children were hyper, we would play calming music to slow them down for open learning. When they were lethargic, we would play dance music to shake them up. In between these two levels, we would play music in the telling of a story or inspiring a creative idea. Music was a wonderful tool.
I found the same scenarios while I raised my own children who were deeply rooted in music (not my genes). Well into the empty nest syndrome, I began to realize that in spite of thriving on quietude, there were days music was a welcomed friend. And what fun it is to sing when no one is listening!

When the Light Bulb Goes Off
While browsing through various writings, I came across some information regarding Thomas Edison. It reflected that he would have a vision of an idea, and then set out a way to create it. As very few seldom succeed on first attempt, Edison diligently moved forward applying one formation after another, with out succeeding for quite a while.
It was interesting to me that Thomas Edison never became negative when he fell short of his mark. He did not delve into past errors nor did he suffer from the comments other inventors were stating. He stayed with his vision, patiently advancing forward until it all came together.
Edison's approach was so fundamental and yet very few of us honor and respect our challenging endeavors. We prematurely give up, and use our energy to listen to the criticism of self or others, depleting our progression. Let's be patient, and keep trying until the light bulb goes off!

"Hearts united in pain and sorrow will not be separated by joy and happiness.
Bonds that are woven in sadness are stronger than the ties of joy and pleasure.
Love that is washed by tears will remain eternally pure and faithful."

Audience Be Gone!
It is human nature to desire attention, but if the attention is gained through misrepresentation, there will be no fulfillment. Falsifying the self and receiving false recognition, makes us feel even more unworthy and adds pressure to continue to disingenuous.
To project our true nature, we must first recognize who we are at the core. We dig within to discover what makes us unfold and blossom. Attention is focused on heightening our strengths, not in discrediting who God made us to be. The longer we put off self-involvement, the more difficult the unearthing will be.
If we can embrace who we are inside, we can love our selves enough that others will be attracted by our light. Those who turn against us for being who we are, will not advance our growth and development. To experience genuine attraction, fuels us to continue to find our gifts and soar! No longer is there a need for an audience.
