Weird Friends

"We're all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone
whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall
into mutually satisfying weirdness - and call it love."
Dr. Seuss

Early on my spiritual path, most information was considered cult or woo-woo. When I wanted to pursue subjects like life after death, I asked a friend to pursue it with me. She laughed and told me I was weird. She declined but said she would go with me to hang onto my feet so I wouldn't transform into some other realm. A true friend!

I have a gentleman friend who has encouraged my weird sense of humor as he has the very same. We have grown a wonderful friendship over the years, based on our adjoined weirdness. We don't talk, we laugh and gasp stuttering out what we believe to be hilarious. Our friends just look at us oddly while shaking their heads as they hear nothing funny.

Being weird is not a bad thing, just an expression of authenticity. There is joy in being unusual, especially when it attracts others who are the same. There is a little sliver of uniqueness in all of us waiting to be heightened. Whether it is an obsession with cars, gardening, adopting pets, be all in! Expand interests whether they are weird or not.
