Hard Heartedness of Winter

"The heart can get really cold
if all you've known is winter."
Benjamin Alire Saenz

When we are closed in on ourselves, we miss the arcing flame kindled by a kindred spirit.  Frozen by existing wounds, rarely is the spirit willing to be vulnerable yet, once again.  With great courage, we can exit the cold winds of winter.

Tender passion felt in the spring  melts the hardness in the heart and the flow washes barriers and invalid stories away.  Rinsing encourages baby sprouts to push through from the darkness, into the light.  The fragrance of hope lingers in the air.

As each day moves us closer to the sun, shed the winter coverings and unlock the gated heart. Discover discarded tools and polish them until they brightly shine.  Stand in the warmth of new beginnings, leaving the frost bites of winter behind.
