Rest On The Shore

"I wonder what it would be like to look at river of life
as a gushing torrent of mercy that smoothens out our rough edges."
Omid Safi

We remain balanced by equally embracing both joy and pain.  Our response of positive action avoids dramatic emotions distracting us or misusing our energy.  If we can treasure joy in small ways, we develop resilience with pain and easily flow through the torrents of life.

Water is the symbol for emotion offering clarity and support.  Currents may pull us faster than we want to go, but the water assists us in defining our integrity and character.  We may not be able to see around the bend, but hope springs eternal.

When joy presents itself in the sun's reflection on the water, simply float.   Use steady strokes to swim through areas of pain, determined to reach deeper understanding.  When we are fluid in movement, aligned with all there is, we can rest on the shore mesmerized by the delicate trickle of the stream.
