Laying Under the Surface

"Thank you for
caring about me,
and specifically
what 'me' would that be?"
Byron Katie

I found this quote of Byron Katie's on Face book.  It was posted by a friend of mine whom I dearly care about.  While thinking of her, all parts of her, I wrote this in response:

I care about all sides of your face,
all wounded parts of your heart,
all smiles in your pocket,
and the twinkling in your eyes.
I care about all curls in your hair,
all steps of your feet and the kindness in your hands.
I also care about the gentleness of your voice
and the radiance of your soul.
I lastly care about whatever you love
and your dreams come true.

Just so you know what I mean when I say,
 "I care about you."

As time passed, I went back on Face book to read once again what I had written.  It was then I realized although this was written with one particular person in mind, it really does display my deep feelings for any sister of my heart.

All of us have many sides to ourselves just like the multi-sided crystal.  We have many aspects stronger than others. Maybe some do not get brought out into the light as often, but they are still a part of us.  The word "me" sounds so simple, but when we peer into it, it is so encompassing.  Their are a multitude of roots to our true being deeply entwined.  There is an appreciation for all that is seen and unconditional compassion for all remaining unseen.
