The Four Agreements

I know that we have our differences because we live in our personal dream, but we can respect one another's dream.  We can agree to work together, knowing that each of us is the center of our own dream.  Each one of us has our own beliefs, our own story, our own point of view.  There are billions of different points of view, but it's the same light, the same force of life behind each one of us.

THE FIFTH AGREEMENT
A Practical Guide to Self-Mastery

THE FOUR AGREEMENTS written by Don Miguel Ruiz is described as A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom (A Toltec Wisdom Book).  His four agreements are very easy to understand as well as easy to apply.

THE FOUR AGREEMENTS:

Be Impeccable with Your Word
"Speak with integrity.  Say only what you mean.  Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others.  Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love."

Don't Take Anything Personally
"Nothing others do is because of you.  What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. are immune to the opinion and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering."

Don't Make Assumptions
"Find the Courage to ask questions and to express what you really want.  Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama.  With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life."

Always Do Your Best
"Your best is going to change from moment to moment ;  it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick.  Under any circumstances, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret."

These statements are exceptional tools for living our lives.  Jot them down, place them on your fridge or dashboard or by your favorite chair.  The only difficult part is remembering to use them!
